Nile Rodgers revealed that he had a premonition about George Michael’s death when he went to see him just two days before he passed away. The producer said that he was on his way to George’s place and he was just about to turn on the road when a funeral cortege suddenly blocked his path.
Nile freaked out, and he impulsively took a snap of the scene and now believes it was a prediction of what was to come.

‘This a photo I snapped while waiting to turn on the street to go to the @GeorgeMichael house on December 23, 2016. Was this some kind of omen? #tears’ he wrote after watching George Michael: Freedom documentary.
‘I’ve never shared this series of snaps. It’s too emotional and strange. The entire confluence of events over those two days defy explanation,’ he continued.
Nile was also featured on the emotional documentary, and he said he’d been at George’s place to discuss producing an album for him.
George died on Christmas day from heart and liver disease aged just 53.
Commenting on the documentary, Nile – who has also collaborated with an endless list of greats including David Bowie, Madonna, and Diana Ross – said that seeing his old friend again had deeply affected him.

‘I could not believe how much listening to @GeorgeMichael right there in his home touched me so much. He was truly an artist,’ he said, admitting that back then he had been too busy to see the depths of George’s talent.

‘I can say that life was moving so fast for me then, it was often hard to see what was right in front of me. I knew George was great but OMG,’ he added.
Tragically, George was found dead in bed on Christmas Day at home, killed by heart and liver disease. In March 2016, he was buried beside his mother in Highgate Cemetery.
