While more than 700 people have claimed to be related to the late singer Prince in hopes of getting a piece of his leftover estate, his assets has now seen its first case of a person who says they are Prince’s only child.
Carlin Q. Williams to a court in Minnesota to petition for a DNA test to prove that he is Prince’s son. He also wants to be listed as “the sole surviving heir," ABC News reported Monday.
As of now, Prince’s heir is his sister, Tyka Nelson. She stated shortly after he passed on April 21 that she does not think Prince had a will. So Bremur Trust will control his estate. Interestingly enough, a judge gave the company the go-ahead to have Prince’s blood analyzed in case anyone tries to come out and say they are related to the late singer. So it might not be hard for Williams to get that DNA test he wants. He might just have to stand in line.
Still, Williams’ mother Marsha Nenson, is also a part of the claim and said she met Prince in July of 1976 at a Kansas City, Mo. hotel. She said they were very intimate and she welcomed Carlin roughly nine months later on April 8 of the following year.
Williams is in a federal prison in Colorado for weapons transport.
If Williams is telling the truth, this would have been the second child for Prince. He and his ex-wife Mayte Garcia, welcomed a son, Boy George back in 1996. Unfortunately he passed away at just one week old of the Pfeiffer syndrome. Garcia recently spoke out on the loss, her adoption of a baby girl and Prince’s passing over the weekend at Single Mom's Planet's Single Moms Awards. Check it out.
