Blue Ivy Carter is 4 years old, but she can handle herself just fine on the red carpet, thankyouverymuch.
Beyoncé and Jay Z’s mini-me made her red carpet debut at Monday’s CFDA Awards, where the “Formation” songstress, 34, was honored with the Fashion Icon Award. Not only did the tot look adorable in her black feathery dress, white blazer, and oversize white bow — an ensemble color coordinated to match Mom and Dad — she didn’t seem bothered by the media frenzy.

As she arrived hand in hand with her rapper father and flashbulbs lit up the Manhattan sky, Blue gave the gathered crowd, including shutterbugs, an extended finger wagging as she walked by. We can only imagine what she was thinking: You better get my good side? No photos until my mama is next to me? I’m richer than all of you combined? Whatever it was, she proved that she was the boss — as pint-size as she may be.
While Beyoncé rocked a hat the size of Delaware on the red carpet, Blue still stole the show posing between the famous couple, who were walking the carpet together for the first time since Lemonade and all the cheating rumors. At one point, Jay held his daughter’s sweet face in his hand. Priceless stuff.
And in Bey’s speech, which her daughter watched from the audience, she heard her mom talk about her love of style but also the world in which she hopes Blue Ivy will grow up. She said, “We have the opportunity to contribute to a society where any girl can look at a billboard or magazine cover and see her own reflection. Soul has no color, no shape, no form. Just like all of your work, it goes far beyond what the eye can see. You have the power to change perception, to inspire and empower, and to show people how to embrace their complications, and see the flaws, and the true beauty and strength that’s inside all of us.”
This wasn’t Blue’s first awards show. Back in 2014, she accompanied her parents to the MTV Video Music Awards — and helped her dad present her mom with the Vanguard Award.
