He made the disclosure yesterday in Uyo after decorating 19 newly promoted Superintendents of Police (SPs) with their new ranks.
According to him, the affected worship centres were attacked by hoodlums who, perhaps, capitalised on their porousness, as none of them had a perimeter fence.
“People should not be afraid of what had happened, it was probably the handiwork of people within. All the churches that are affected are so porous, no fencing, we don’t have to nurse the fear of Boko Haram.
“To put the records straight, they did not burn down churches but chairs and musical instruments and tithe boxes,” he added.
